Tiquicia Traditional Night Dinner Tour
Duration 4 hours. This is a dinner tour in the mountains above San Jose giving you a panoramic view of the Central Valley at night. Tiquicia is a restored adobe building with a special atmosphere enhanced by the lantern and candlelight illumination. The food is an excellent variety of typical Costa Rican dishes, cooked over wood and in round clay ovens. After dinner you are treated to a show of native Costa Rican folklore dances. Includes round-trip transportation, dinner and show. Driving time San Jose - Tiquicia 45 minutes.

San Jose City Tour
Duration 3 hours. This tour introduces you to Costa Rican culture, history and crafts with visits to San Jose's historical monuments, museums, parks and neighborhoods. Includes a stop for souvenir shopping. Many museums are closed on Mondays therefore tour does not usually operate on this day. Tour departs mornings and afternoons.

Calypso Island Cruise

Duration 12 hours After an early morning bus ride from San Jose to the Pacific port of Puntarenas, you will board the cruise ship for a relaxing day among the islands in the Gulf of Nicoya. With plenty of refreshments, a great shore lunch, opportunities for swimming, snorkeling and fishing, this will be day to remember. Return to San Jose through the mountains at sunset and early evening. Driving time San Jose - Puntarenas 1.5 hours one way.

National Museum
Located at 17th Calle and Central Avenue
An old colonial fortress. Here is a large pre-Colombian art collection, historic artifacts and objects of significance to the natural sciences. The colonial fort, Bellavista, once was the headquarters for the army when it existed.
Gold Museum
Located on 5th Calle between Central and 2nd Avenues
Pre-Colombian Treasures. A permanent exhibit of over 20,000 troy ounces of pre-Colombian gold figures.
Jade Museum
Located in the National Insurance Building at 7th Calle and 7th Avenue
Contains a fascinating array of pre-Colombian jade artifacts.
Museum of Contemporary Art
Located at La Sabana Metropolitan Park
A beautiful collection of painting and sculptures by 19th and 20th century Costa Rican artists.
Museum of Natural Science
Located at the Ministry of Agriculture in Sabana Sur (southwest end of the Sabana Metropolitan Park).
Over 1500 specimens, some of which are extinct, are featured at the museum.
National Theatre
Home of National Symphony. Regular presentations of Opera, Ballet,Drama and Music. Built in 1890 and 1897 when San Jose was just a village run by coffee barons. The theatre is a masterpiece of Renaissance art.
